Peapod is a private circle app designed for families and close friends to share small daily moments. We take your privacy — and the privacy of your family — seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who We Are
Peapod is operated by Peapod.
2. Age Requirement
Peapod is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please use the contact method listed in the Contact Us section below.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to provide the Peapod service.
- Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account.
- Content you share: Photos, videos, captions, and reactions you post within your circle.
- Circle membership: Information about the private circles you belong to, including the names of other members you invite or join.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and push notification tokens, used to deliver the app experience reliably.
- Usage data: Aggregate, non-identifying information about how you use the app (screens visited, feature interactions) to help us improve the product.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and circles.
- To deliver content you post to the members of your circle.
- To send you push notifications about new moments from your circle (you can disable these in device settings).
- To improve the app through aggregate, anonymous usage analysis.
- To respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not use your content or personal information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in limited circumstances:
- Within your circle: Content you post is visible only to the members of your private circle.
- Service providers: We use third-party services (such as cloud storage and infrastructure providers) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements. Our primary backend is Supabase.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We use Supabase for database and storage infrastructure, which maintains its own security certifications.
While we take reasonable precautions, no system is perfectly secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your account credentials private.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
You may delete individual posts at any time from within the app.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion of your account and personal data.
- Restriction of certain processing activities.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of Peapod after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
